Our Founder

Makalah Lawton

With a passion for dance that spans nearly two decades, Ms. Makalah Lawton is a seasoned professional in the world of dance and performing arts. A proud alumna of Howard University in Washington, DC, where she honed her skills as a dancer and choreographer she has always been driven by a deep love for the art form.

Prior to her studies at Howard University, Makalah Lawton immersed herself in the world of dance at Eleone Dance Unlimited, under the expert direction of Shawn- Lamere Williams, Dara Meredith, Charon Mapp and Kareem Goodwin, as well as Philly Movements Dance Company, under the direction of Danielle Hayes and Kamille Innerarity. It was here that she honed her technical prowess, developed her artistic voice, and cultivated a deep appreciation  for the power of movement as a form of self expression.

Post- Graduation, Makalah returned to her hometown of Philadelphia with a mission to share all that she had learned and give back to the youth in her community. Determined to inspire the next generation of dancers, she founded Infinity Center for Dance Arts, a welcoming space where students can explore their potential and express themselves through dance.
